Set Permanent Host

Are you a classroom teacher? Or a conference room presenter? Previously, the first person to connect to the EZCast Pro Dongle II would be designated as the "Host."

Now you can assign yourself as the permanent host of the EZCast Pro Dongle II. This means even if you connect last, the host role will automatically be assigned to you.

Am I Currently Host or Guest?

In the Windows/macOS software, your role as Host/Guest is displayed as shown below:

In the iOS/Android app, you can check your role designation by tapping Settings in the top-left corner:

How to Set a Permanent Host

Access Advanced Settings

  • Connect your device to the EZCast Pro II either via:
  • The EZCast Pro II device's SSID, OR
  • The same WLAN/LAN infrastructure the EZCast Pro II device is connected to:

  • Enter your EZCast Pro device's IP address (shown in the bottom-left corner of the homepage) in any web browser:

Log in as Admin

  • Enter the admin password (default: 000000) and click OK. If the password isn't accepted, reset the device using the reset button.

  • During first login, you must change the admin password. Afterwards, you'll need to log in again.

Configure Permanent Host

  • From the menu, select Admin Settings:

  • Select the Permanent Host menu item:

  • Either select a currently connected user or specify a fixed IP address

  • To apply the settings, restart the Pro Dongle II. From the menu, select Restart.

  • Then select the Restart button.
