Firmware Update¶

Why Update Firmware?¶

To benefit from the latest features of the EZCast Pro Dongle II, you can quickly and conveniently install the newest firmware update via the internet. During installation, your existing settings will be preserved. The EZCast Pro device requires internet access, indicated by the Wi-Fi symbol in the top right corner and an assigned router IP address labeled Infrastructure IP in the bottom left of the homepage, as shown below:

If your EZCast Pro Dongle II isn't connected to the internet, check the Wi-Fi settings.

Update Firmware via Web Interface¶

Access Advanced Settings¶

• Connect your device to the EZCast Pro II either via:
• The EZCast Pro II device's SSID, OR
• The same WLAN/LAN infrastructure the EZCast Pro II device is connected to:

• Enter your EZCast Pro device's IP address (shown in the bottom-left corner of the homepage) in any web browser:

Log in as Admin¶

• Enter the admin password (default: 000000) and click OK. If the password isn't accepted, reset the device using the reset button.

Perform Upgrade¶

• Select Admin Settings from the menu:

  

• When a new firmware version is available, it will show New Version! next to the Update option. Select this button to continue:

  

• The new firmware version appears in the Server Version field. Confirm by selecting Update.

  

The new firmware will download and install automatically.

After restarting, the current firmware version will display in the bottom-right corner of the homepage:

Update Firmware via Internet Using CMS¶

The Central Management System (CMS) lets you install the latest firmware from the internet on multiple EZCast Pro II or QuattroPod devices.

• When new firmware is available for a receiver or transmitter, this notification appears next to the device:

• Select desired devices, then click Remote -> Device firmware upgrade.

• Under the OTA tab, click Apply to begin the update:

The new firmware will download and install automatically.

• During receiver updates, this message appears:

Update Firmware Without Internet Using CMS¶

The CMS also enables firmware installation on devices without internet connection. First download firmware for your devices using these links:

• Select target devices, then click Remote -> Device firmware upgrade.

• Under the FILE tab, select your pre-downloaded firmware file:

• Click Apply to begin the update:

• During receiver updates, this message appears:

Install Firmware via CMS¶

The CMS supports installing current, previous, or beta firmware versions on multiple EZCast Pro II devices or QuattroPods.

• Download firmware for the EZCast Pro Box II.

• Select target devices, then click Remote -> Device Firmware upgrade.

• Under the FILE tab, click File to select your downloaded firmware.

The new firmware will download and install automatically.
