Update Firmware¶

Why update the firmware?¶

To benefit from the latest features of the EZCast Pro Box II, you can quickly and conveniently install the newest firmware update via the Internet. When installing a new firmware, the previous settings are retained. The EZCast Pro device requires an Internet connection for this. This is indicated by the Wi-Fi symbol at the top right and an assigned IP address from your router labeled Infrastructure IP at the bottom left of the home screen, as shown below:

If your EZCast Pro Box II is not connected to the Internet, please check the Wi-Fi/LAN.

Update firmware via web interface¶

Open advanced settings¶

• Connect your device to the EZCast Pro II device, either using the SSID of the EZCast Pro II device or via the same Wi-Fi or LAN infrastructure to which the EZCast Pro II device is connected:

• Enter the IP address of your EZCast Pro device in any web browser; this is displayed at the bottom left on the home screen:

Log in as admin¶

• Enter the admin password and click OK to log in. The default password is 000000. If this password is not accepted, reset the device using the reset button.

Perform upgrade¶

• From the menu, select Admin Settings:

  

• If a new firmware version is available, it will be indicated with New Version! next to the Update menu item. To continue, select this button:

  

• The new firmware version will be displayed in the Server Version field. To confirm, select Update.

  

The new firmware will be downloaded and installed automatically.

After restarting, the current firmware version is displayed at the bottom right of the home screen:

Install firmware via Internet with CMS¶

With the CMS (Central Management System) you can install the latest firmware from the Internet on multiple EZCast Pro II or QuattroPod devices.

• When new firmware is available for the receiver or transmitter, the message appears next to the device:

• Select the desired devices, then click the Remote button -> and choose the function Device firmware upgrade.

• Under the OTA tab, simply click the Apply button to perform the update:

The new firmware will be downloaded and installed automatically.

Install firmware without Internet via CMS¶

With the CMS (Central Management System) you can also install the latest firmware on devices that are not connected to the Internet. Please use the links below to download the firmware for your devices in advance:

• Select the desired devices, then click the Remote button and choose the option Device firmware upgrade.

• Under the FILE tab, select the firmware file you downloaded earlier:

• Click the Apply button to perform the update:

• During the receiver update, the following message appears:
