What is the App/Software Used For?¶
The free EZCastPro app/software provides both presenters and participants with various advanced control options and transmission functions that aren't available through a device's built-in mirroring capabilities.
Requirements¶
You need to install the EZCastPro app/software. Comprehensive instructions for downloading and installing the app/software for your device can be found here.
When your device is connected to the EZCast Pro Box II via the EZCastPro app/software, the interface appears as follows:
Mirror | Extend | Disconnect | Pause¶
These buttons in the top menu bar allow you to either mirror
or extend
your Windows/macOS device screen. During presentations, you can also pause
or completely disconnect
the transmission.
Roles - Admin, Host, and Guest¶
There are three permission levels. The Admin manages devices. The Host and Guest roles differ in functionality.
Admin¶
The admin manages devices and accesses advanced settings and functions unavailable to hosts, such as firmware updates.
Host¶
In EZCast Pro, the presenter is called "Host" and can decide how and when participants can share their screens during presentations. By default, the first user to log in via the EZCast Pro app/software becomes the host, while others are guests. Optionally, a user can be permanently assigned as host.
Guest¶
Participants logged in as guests have limited capabilities and cannot access certain functions (e.g., conference control).
In the EZCast Pro software for Windows and macOS, the host role is displayed in the top-right corner as shown below:
In the iOS/Android app, your role is indicated as follows:
Select the settings button in the top-left corner.
Privacy Settings¶
Despite the name, this section contains not only settings for collecting personal, location, and usage data but also advanced settings affecting multiple application functions.
Personalize Name¶
When first launching the app, it's recommended to enter your name in the software. Despite being labeled "Hostname," it actually serves as an identifier for both guests and hosts, making it easier for hosts to identify which participant wants to share or from whom they're receiving a sharing request:
Preferred Device¶
This option lets you set the current device as preferred so the EZCast Pro app/software always searches for it first without requiring manual selection.
Conference Control (Settings)¶
Guests can allow screen sharing requests from hosts. When the Allow remote mirror
setting is enabled, hosts can share a guest's screen without needing manual approval from that guest. This option is currently only supported on Windows and macOS.
Host Control (Settings)¶
Contains the Do Not Disturb
and Allow Automatic Progression
settings for host control. A comprehensive guide to host control can be found here.
Analytics¶
You can choose to enable or disable the collection of personal, location, and usage data.
Host Control¶
The first user to connect via the software/app becomes the host (moderator), while others are guests. By default, all sharing requests require host approval via Allow
or Deny
:
Hosts have two additional controls:
Do Not Disturb
When enabled, hosts won't receive screen sharing requests from guests. Hosts can choose to disable automatic rejection at specific times during presentations or share a participant's screen using conference control.
Allow Automatic Progression
When enabled, guests don't need host approval for screen sharing.
These features are located in the Privacy Settings section.
For additional host control settings that can be permanently configured in firmware, see Advanced Settings -> Host Control.
Split Screen¶
The Split Screen function provides simple moderator controls for hosts with these options:
- Display the host's screen in fullscreen
- Reposition the host's screen sharing
- End all transmissions and return to the homepage
The Split Screen function is located in the left panel of the app/software.
The EZCast Pro device can simultaneously display up to four users on screen.
Note
The Split Screen function cannot reposition or end individual guest screen sharing. For more comprehensive moderator functions, we recommend using Conference Control under Advanced Settings.
Conference Control¶
Conference Control is a host-only feature for managing presentations with various control options. Hosts can determine how and when participants share their screens. Controls for Repositioning
, Fullscreen
, or Disconnecting
are located in the right column.
Hosts can also assign the host role to other participants.
How to access Conference Control
?
The Conference Control function is located under Advanced Settings.
Note
To access Conference Control, the Admin
must grant the host corresponding permissions. More information can be found here.
Update¶
The Update
button lets you upgrade the EZCastPro app/software to the latest version.
Video Quality and Audio¶
These controls let you adjust video transmission quality and toggle audio on/off.
Music Streaming¶
The free EZCastPro app/software can also stream music. The music player enables WLAN music streaming and supports playlists.
Video Streaming¶
For smooth video playback, use the video function. Unlike standard mirroring, this streams content directly to the display without simultaneous playback on your device. When selecting video files from your device or network, a buffer is created. Depending on device and network performance, playback may take several seconds to begin.
You can also synchronize subtitle files with videos. Just ensure the subtitle filename matches the video filename, and subtitles will display automatically during playback.
Note
All common video formats are supported. For subtitles, srt, smi, ssa, and cdg formats with UTF-8 encoding are supported.
Photo Streaming¶
The EZCast Pro Software currently has no dedicated photo display function. Simply mirror your screen and use an app to display photos.
However, the EZCast Pro App includes this feature with both slideshow and annotation capabilities:
AirView¶
AirView lets you view presentation output on your device. This feature is enabled by default. If it's not working, check whether AirView is enabled in the firmware configuration.
AirView in the App/Software¶
The AirView function is located:
- In EZCast Pro Software (Windows/macOS) - top-right corner
- In the function list of Android/iOS apps
Use the top-right buttons to start image capture. By default, presentation snapshots are taken every 5 seconds and can be downloaded.
If Castcode is enabled, you must enter the code here:
Fullscreen view of one participant's output:
Split-screen view of two participants' output:
Warning
AirView doesn't support video or audio transmission.
AirView in Web Browser¶
AirView is available in any web browser. Simply connect your device to the same network as the EZCast Pro device:
- Note the IP address shown in the bottom-left corner of the homepage.
- Enter
ipaddress/?page=AirView
in your browser. For example:
Use the top-right buttons to start image capture. By default, presentation snapshots are taken every 5 seconds and can be downloaded.
If Castcode is enabled, enter the code here:
Fullscreen view of one participant's output:
Split-screen view of two participants' output:
You can then bookmark the AirView web address:

Camera¶
The mobile camera function lets you stream live camera feed to projectors or large displays. For example, you can show science students close-up experiment apparatus without them leaving their seats.
When starting the camera function, your camera streams live immediately. You can also capture, annotate, and save still photos:

Advanced Settings¶
The Advanced Settings function lets you update firmware and conveniently adjust various EZCast Pro Box II settings remotely. More information can be found here.
